Apostolia Loukopoulou

Dr Apostolia Loukopoulou is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Marketing and Communication, Athens University of Economics and Business. She holds a BSc in Marketing and Communication, a Master in Business Administration (MBA) and a PhD in Marketing. Her postgraduate and doctoral studies were funded by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation (IKY). Her doctoral thesis focused on consumer behavior and more specifically on attribute-level variety-seeking behavior. She has published in academic journals, such as the Journal of Consumer Behaviour, as well as in conference proceedings, including the proceedings of the European Marketing Academy Conference (EMAC) and the proceedings of the Conference of the International Association of Research in Economic Psychology (IAREP). She has received a best full paper award in the Marketing and Retail track at the 2016 British Academy of Management (BAM) conference. Her current work focuses on the effect of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on consumer behavior. Part of this work aims to explain the psychological mechanisms that underlie the effect of AI on consumer decision-making. In addition, it aims to examine how the characteristics of an AI application along with personal and social factors can influence consumer behavior.
